Clean Your Jacks!

Saturday, August 9, 2014

As evidenced by my many outfit of the day posts, I'm sure y'all already know that I love my Jacks. I pretty much wear them
When I was at the nail salon getting my mani/pedi for Morgan's wedding, the lady next to me in the pedicure chair was wearing brand new jacks. I didn't realize until that moment how tired mine were looking.
Then it occurred to me...EW.
The next time I went to the grocery store, I paid a little visit to the shoe care section and I found this stuff called Saddle Soap.

Basically, its just leather cleaner but I figured it would be okay since, Jacks are all leather...and really they're probably at the end of their life span anyway. I decided to give it a try.
This stuff is AMAZING. Seriously, this trick is going in my bag forever and ever.
Anyway, my Jacks don't look brand new, or even close to brand new BUT they do feel much cleaner. In fact, I know they are cleaner because of the gunk I cleaned off of them. I'm not going to post a photo of the rag I used because quite frankly, it is embarrassing. Plus, the leather on the foot bed is so much softer than it was before.

Like I said, not perfect but a step in the right direction. Yay clean little babies!

1| Get a washcloth and get it damp, wipe off the shoes to get rid of any dirt.
2| Take a little bit of saddle soap and rub it into the shoes with the washcloth.
3| Take a clean cloth and wipe away the dirt and soap! Done!
